about me

motto: Life is like searching for a light in caves, clear open ways, and hope.

I am painting architect, member of Association of Polish Painters and Graphic Artists ( Związek Polskich Artystów Malarzy i Grafików ZPAMiG ), of Circle Plener at the Warsaw Branch of  Association of Polish Architects ( Koło Plener Oddział Warszawski Stowarzyszenia Architektów Polskich OW SARP ) and Association of Warsaw Visual Artist ( Warszawskie Stowarzyszenie Plastyków WSP ). In 2017, I was registred in the register of Polish painters ArtInfo.

I like painting and travelling, sometimes I write some kind of epigram or poem. Making ceramics and collecting reportage photography are also my fields of interest. Someone called me Grotołaz ( Grottos Walker ), because of the theme  in my paintings is searching light in a cave or grotto, but also in a campfire on a summer night, in a dawn over lakes, and in people with a positive attitude to the World.  I paint characterological  and symbolic portraits of them to reflect their relationship with the world. So I search for a light and the Light - clear open ways and hope.

I was born in Zakopane, the place where I return to every year. I graduated from Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. O. Balzera ( General Secondary School named after Oswald Balzer). In Zakopane, my favourite place had always been  Community Centre  - Jutrzenka -  located in the Zakopian Park, and my drawing and painting teacher was Czesław Jałowiecki, a disting uished and recognised sculptor, who was also my form tutor.

To become a student in architecture, I had had lessons in architectural drawing taught by Zenon Remi, an architect. I graduated from Politechnika Warszawska  ( Warsaw University of Technology ), Faculty of Architecture. The Architectural Drawing School was conducted and directed by the following architects professors: Henryk Dąbrowski, Jan Szymański, Adam Sufliński and Ludomir Słupeczański - the School was the cradle of my professional skills.

After delivering my Master’s Degree thesis and obtaining the University’s diploma, I worked for planning and design companies, in construction supervision and administration, and at a private gallery Galeria Alicji i Bożeny Wahl - I have great memories of that time period. At the same time,  I have painted from imagination, experimenting with the most beloved technique, gum Arabic with ink, and I paint with acrylics.

When my daughters grew up and left Home, I arranged my studio and I may paint large - sized paintings. My works have been available in online galleries since 2014 and since 2013 I have displayed my works at exhibitions in Warsaw and in neighbouring towns. Since 2018, I have also shown my artwork at exhibitions abroad.

I have published a book of poetry titled Brama do Bajki  (  Gate to  Fairy Tale ). The poems were written for Bruno.

In 2014, Joanna Adamek, Iwona Piszczelska and I formed an artistic group called "Trzy Barwy"  ( Three Colours ).

My works were displayed in numerous collective and solo exhibitions locally and internationally:
